Peak 10 provides state-of-the-art hosting service; Microsoft and Dell ante up software and hardware to support new website initiatives
Charlotte, NC – April 30, 2004 – Charlotte based data center services provider, Peak 10, began hosting the Chamber’s Information Technology Charlotte (iTC) and Blue Diamond Awards Web sites March 15, 2004. The arrangement is a joint venture between the Chamber and Peak 10, Microsoft Corporation, and Dell Computer. Peak 10 offered to provide the hosting services for free, while Microsoft contributed Sharepoint software, and Dell donated the server.
According to Pat O’Brien, Vice-President and General Manager of Peak 10, the Company is looking forward to the increased exposure in the Charlotte IT market that the hosting arrangement will provide. “The iTC is the focal point for the Chamber’s information technology initiatives and it’s an honor to be trusted with hosting the website. It is confirmation for the products and services we can provide,” said O’Brien.
Since 1988, The Charlotte Chamber’s Information Technology Charlotte (iTC) council has recognized the accomplishments made by area companies during its Annual Blue Diamond Awards – “The Oscars for Information Technology.” According to Dee Means, ITC Vice President, the Blue Diamond Awards committee will be the first to use the hosted website to manage the Blue Diamond Awards project.
